Extreme Makeover: WWE EDitionTwo weeks ago on Raw, WWE did something I personally didn't see coming: they repackaged Michael McGillicutty (terrible name, I know) into something they should have done a long LONG time ago; they acknowledged his family history as a third generation wrestler, and named him in tribute to his dad Mr. Perfect and his grandfather Larry “the Ax” Hennig. They get a standing ovation from me for handling this repackaging flawlessly. That got me thinking: who else needs a repack worse than a fruit cake at Christmas time?

Antonio Cesaro's Career, iN WWE's Eyes, is a Game.
We've all stayed home sick from something at some point in our lives. If you're like I was when I was a younger man, you watched “The Price is Right”, since nothing else was on and you were stuck in bed. One of my favorite games was the one with the yodeling mountain climber who yodeled that silly song. He'd climb up the mountain, sometimes stopping before the peak, sometimes he'd fall over the edge. Either way, it was entertaining to watch. Apparently WWE loves this game as well, since they're currently playing it. Only instead of a plastic mountain climber, it's Antonio Cesaro scaling that peak. Think I'm insane? Read on, my friends...CONTINUE READING.

Kayfabe Q&A: Jimmy Noonan
This week we had the opportunity to interview former Director of Security for WWE, Jimmy Noonan.
Jimmy has lived a very colorful life having acted on Broadway, on television shows, and in movies such as Super Troopers, all before joining WWE. In our interview we discuss how he got the chance to work for WWE, his thoughts on Vince McMahon, the Chris Benoit tragedy, the recent incident involving CM Punk striking a fan, His upcoming book, as well as some of the crazy experiences he's had while working security for WWE. How many of you can say that you have tackled a mentally disabled kid dressed as The Undertaker? By mistake, of course.
Jimmy is a larger than life personality, whose story needed to be told. So sit back and enjoy the ride as I pick the brain of Jimmy Noonan.

This day in Wrestling historyOctober 17, 1999:
Jeff Jarrett defended the Intercontinental Title against Chyna at WWF No Mercy '99, in what would be his last appearance ever in WWE. Jarrett's contract had expired the day before the Pay Per View, and he decided to hold Vince McMahon up for $300,000 or he wasn't going to show up for his match. He got the money he wanted, but he was also blackballed from the organization. Vince McMahon even buried Jarrett live on the final telecast of WCW Nitro, which proves that you indeed "Never cross the boss". |

Anyways...Sit back and relax as Dean Ambrose and William Regal show everyone what pro wrestling is all about!!
Heisenbealer's TNA Impact Review 10/11/2012Howdy there, Heisenbealer here, doing the Impact review this week. It’s been many a moon since I've tuned into the TNA product, which is odd because I've never been as hard on them as the rest of the internet community seems to be. I can just only handle so much man grappling in a week’s time. And usually that was reserved for Raw, but with whatever Punk and Bryan happen to be doing being the only thing worth tuning into lately (and the three hour drag) I haven't even been watching that lately. So here we go!

Random thoughts on this week's episode of Impact Wrestling.
1. Joseph Parks is TOTALLY with Aces & Eights like I predicted. Having him get abducted and held hostage by the group in order to get to Hogan is an obvious swerve, we all knew that he would one day lapse back into being Abyss. And if he is, I think it makes sense to have him with Aces and Eights.
2. Doug Williams beat the piss out of this week's Gut Check contestant. You could tell that Williams was making the kid pay some serious dues in that ring.
3. The TV Title is returning even though Devon isn't. There was some debate behind the scenes about if they were going to abandon it or not. I like that they have another secondary belt other than the X Division title. And they can use it to elevate more stars to the main event. So that is cool.
4. I am trying really hard to care about the Storm/Roode Feud. Their issue has been dragged out so much that it all just feels stale at this point. They should have blown off their program back at Slammiversary and then had Roode drop the title to A Double the following month. It's been a year now and I'm afraid that the shine is off of this one.
5. Bully Ray and Austin Aries are money. But you knew that already.
6. I'm looking forward to Aries vs Hardy for the TNA title at Bound for Glory. I was pissed that Bully Ray didn't win the BFG series, but I'm starting to come around. I think these two will have one hell of a match at the PPV next month. I enjoyed their interplay this week, maybe TNA was right to have Hardy win.

Fantasy booking of Bret Hart's appearance on Raw tonight
AJ welcomes Bret Hart back to Raw in his home country, the very place where Hart was "Screwed" by Vince McMahon in 1997. Bret comes out to a huge ovation from his fellow Canadians.
Bret takes the mic and talks about wanting to erase the 'stain' of the Survivor Series from his legacy, and put the entire incident behind him. He then mentions that he was never greedy for money, he was greedy for RESPECT.
This brings out our WWE Champion CM Punk.
Punk talks about how he respects the Hitman. How he idolized him growing up. He even mentions wearing tights that paid tribute to Hart at Summerslam. He then brings up the last guy that he paid tribute to in that fashion, Randy Savage. But Punk's tone begins to change as he says the name of The Macho Man.
Punk then asks Bret if he remembers what else happened on the night that he dressed as Savage. He asks if he remembers being the referee that night during his match. He then brings up how Bret Hart "Screwed" Punk during that match by punching him and putting him in Bret's trademark Sharpshooter.
Punk then says that Bret Hart showed him disrespect last year, and now he's going to teach him a lesson in respect. Punk begins to stalk Hart in the ring before John Cena runs down to stop it.
Punk leaves the ring and walks up the ramp holding The WWE Title in the air, and simply says "Respect".

The Raw Review 8/27/2012These three hour episodes of Raw are going to be the death of me. If I'm not killed by boredom, it will be liver failure from the amount of alcohol I must ingest during segments that make me want to rip out my own eyes.
This wasn't the worst episode I have seen, not even close. Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of good stuff on tonight's show. But the three hour format just isn't working. |
Match of the Week: Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle: WWE Title Iron Man Match
This edition of Match Of The Week is one of my personal favorites. Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar in a 60 Minute Iron Match for the WWE Championship on Smackdown back in 03. I think it’s an oft overlooked gem, probably because it was a Smackdown match and the quality of SD these days, well, it ain't what it used to be. Having no cable growing up, Smackdown was my only option for my wrasslin’ fix, and getting this PPV worthy match on free TV was a golden opportunity for my 15 year old self. These two had a great feud during Brock’s first run in WWE. I’d argue Kurt did more to boost the profile of Lesnar than Undertaker or Hulk Hogan did...Click here to continue.
